Kefir & why include it in your daily meals…

Just recently I had a little tummy bug and decided that I need to try this bowl of kefir mixed with guavas that my wonderful husband prepared for me. It tasted great, like natural yogurt mixed with delicious fruit!

What is Kefir?

Kefir has been used for centuries in European and Asian folk medicine. It is made by using kefir grains and placing them in cow or goats milk which then cultures into a delicious and healthy drink.

What are it’s benefits?

Kefir is an incredible source of probiotics, which is great relief for digestive issues, weight management and even mental health care.

Not only is Kefir high in calcium but is great in vitamin K2, which plays a central role in the metabolism of calcium making stronger bones and reducing the risk of osteoporosis.

It may prevent against cancer. Probiotics in fermented dairy products are believed to inhibit tumor growth by reducing formation of carcinogenic compounds, as well as by stimulating the immune system.

The best thing about it all is it is natural, refreshing, tastes great and you can add fruits and other super foods to it for added nutritional value!
