The Muladhara Chakra is also known as the root center; base center or coccyx center.
It is affiliated with the colour red, the earth element and connected to the sense of smell.
The symbol is a 4 petal lotus.
The basic principle of this chakra is of physical well-being.
As the Muladhara Chakra spins in the base of the coccyx it is associated with the lower part of the body such as the spinal cord, anus, rectum, colon, prostate gland, blood and building of cells. AS well as the parts of the body that are of the earth element such as bones, teeth and nails. The muladhara chakra is also connected with the suprarenal glands.
In Aryuvedic teachings the root center is assigned to the sun, the primordial source of all life!
- Connects us with the physical world
- We feel in touch with the “spirit of Mother Earth”
- As spiritual beings having a human experience, we accept life on earth
- Live in harmony on Earth and learn from Earthly forces
- Gives energy for creative self expression
